2018 SUMERNET Streams of Change

This booklet highlights the outcomes of SUMERNET Phase 3 research through three “Streams of Change”: knowledge, attitudes, and practices. Using cases from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand, it shows how research and policy engagement contributed to wetland management, sustainable floating-rice farming, livelihoods, and water-resource management.

This booklet provides a brief look at the success of the Sustainable Mekong Research Network’s (SUMERNET) Phrase 3, from 2014 t0 2017, through highlights of its outcome harvesting activities, which were undertaken to collect evidence of outcomes and the ndetermine if SUMERNET interventions contributed to them.

The SUMERNET “Streams of Change” theme was chosen to represent how SUMERNET Phrase 3 stimulated change through its partners’ ideas, research and policy engagement that stream benefits to communities, just as the flow of the Mekong and its tributaries benefit these same communities, economically and socially, through the provision of natural resources for thriving livelihoods.
