SUMERNET policy forum to be held in Phnom Penh on 30 March 2017

SUMERNET Policy Forum: Opportunities for regional research and partnership approach in supporting the implementation of water security related Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030" will be held on 30 March in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The policy forum is part of the Annual Meeting of SUMERNET during 28-30 March 2017. The one-day policy forum will bring together regional policy-makers, think tanks, academics and civil society. A number of policy planners from the host country Cambodia are expected to attend.

Lower Mekong Public Policy Initiative (LMPPI)

The Lower Mekong Public Policy Initiative (LMPPI) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LMPPI is housed at the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP), a center for public policy teaching, research and policy dialogue in Viet Nam, and is jointly managed by FETP and the Viet Nam Program of Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation in the United States.

Towards policy relevant knowledge in the Mekong: exploring the links between sustainability research and policy

This report discusses the outcome of a project focusing on linkages between sustainability policy and research in the Mekong Region. In the context of a discussion of literature on linkages between research and policy generally, the project examined a number of projects supported by the Sustainable Mekong Research Network (Sumernet). Each of these case study projects has been undertaking research concerned with some aspects of sustainable use of resources in the region.
