WIN HTUT AUNG is a Certified Public Accountant of Myanmar and holder of Master of Business Administration from Yangon Institute of Economics.
After working with U Hla Tun Group, a member of Coopers & Lybrand in Myanmar, he set up his own accounting firm WIN HTUT AUNG & ASSOCIATES in 1996. His firm grew together with the development of political and economic openness of Myanmar and became a mid-tier accounting firms providing services to international clients. Win Htut Aung & Associates is an independent member firm of MORISON INTERNATIONAL, a global association of leading professional service firms specialized in accounting, auditing, tax and business consulting needs of clients.
He is currently acting as Joint Secretary of Central Executive Committee of Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). MICPA is the professional body of accountants of Myanmar registered as a non-profit non-government organization under the laws of Myanmar with 500+ members. It provides professional development works closely with international professional institutions, industrial associations, and regulatory bodies.
In 2007, he joined ASIA DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH INSTITUTE (ADRI), a research company providing trade, economy, social and environmental analysis and market study reports in collaboration with international organizations to provide the needs of existing and potential investors in Myanmar. His initial role in ADRI is as a Sectoral Researcher cum Consultant and currently acting as Executive Director of ADRI.
ADRI is a member of SUMERNET (the Sustainable Mekong Research Network), a programme intended to build a long-term research network that informs and influences policy development on sustainable development issues in the Mekong region Launched in 2005 with support from the Swedish government. SUMERNET includes 14 member institutions in the first phase and has successfully catalyzed research on a number of critical development challenges in the Mekong region.
